Premier League: Maurizio Sarri confirmed at Chelsea

Former Napoli manager, Maurizio Sarri has been confirmed the new head coach of Chelsea following the dismissal of Antonio Conte.

The 59 year-old is expected to resume duties with immediate effect as Chelsea look to begin pre-season and revamp the squad ahead of the new season.

“I am very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my career,” the Italian said after signing a three year deal with the London club.

“I look forward to starting work and meeting the players on Monday ahead of travelling to Australia, where I will be able to get to know the squad and begin our match action.”

Sarri has earned plaudits for his attacking and exciting brand of football and will be looking to bring same to the Premier League.

“I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves,” he added.
