Nigeria Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has signed a new long term contract with Premier League club Arsenal. The 22-year old who has been with the Gunners since age nine on Friday put pen to paper on the contract reported to be within the range of four to five years.

Iwobi, a full international with Nigeria was part of Nigeria’s squad to the last FIFA World Cup Russia where he featured in all three matches for the Super Eagles.

“It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from when I was young, and to get an extended contract is an amazing feeling,” Iwobi told the Arsenal website on Friday.

His manager Unai Emery also expressed delight at his club’s tying the nephew of footballing legend Jay-Jay Okocha to a lengthy deal.
