After playing a crucial part en route the NWPL Super 4 trophy, Bayelsa Queens forward Reuben Charity hopes to improve on her performance in the coming season.

Scoring the only goal of the game in the play-offs against Sunshine Queens and constantly posing a goalscoring threat upfront for the Restoration Girls against Nasarawa Amazons, the tall Bayelsa Queens forward couldn’t hide her excitement after their title triumph on Sunday evening.

“I feel so happy,” the elated Bayelsa Queens attacker said. “It wasn’t easy but we deserved it and we thank God for winning the trophy.”

Having last won the trophy 12 years ago and going into a final of such magnitude against the defending champions what exactly what the game plan? “We knew we could do it. So going into the match we had only one plan: to put on our fighting spirit and win the match,” she said.

Finally, after a successful season which ended in celebration for the Restoration Girls, Reuben Charity is not losing track of what needs to be done to stay on top. “For now we are just going to celebrate and then when the new season comes, I want to ensure I put up a better performance for the team than I did this season.”
