Ahead of Sunday’s final showdown with Bayelsa Queens, Super Falcons and Nasarawa Amazons defender, Ugochi Emenayo believes her team is good enough and ready to defend their NWFL title.

“First of all we thank God for everything because this game is unbelievable. We can’t believe that we reached the final having played our fiercest rivals. I’m very happy. We believed we were going to get the equalising goal and we did just that,” she said after defeating Rivers Angels on penalties.

Having just recently won third place with the Super Falcons at the China Invitational Tournament last week Sunday and now with another opportunity to become league champions all within a week “I would say it’s like a miracle and God’s grace,” the defender said.

Adding that “I believe we will defend the title we won last year because we have a group of experienced players with some playing in the national team with the Super Falcons and the U-20 team with the Falconets.”

She also went ahead to shed light on her experience in China with the national team saying “I learnt a lot having some experience with the head coach of the Super Falcons, Thomas Dennerby and his assistant coaches. I’m very happy to have worked with them.”
