High flying Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Akwa Starlets will welcome back their two assistant coaches Lawrence Kingsley and Wisdom Etuk for Wednesday’s game against Kano Pillars.

Both Kingsley and Etuk were handed three match suspensions by the league body following their dismissal in the Match Day 3 game away to Heartland FC in Okigwe; a game Starlets drew 1-1.

The duo who are first and second assistants respectively to head coach Caleb Esu will now return to the dug out for the rescheduled Match Day 2 match against winless Kano Pillars at the Nest of Champions.

Also returning for Akwa Starlets on Wednesday are team’s vice captain Archibong Eso and Ubong Idio, the latter on loan from local rivals Akwa United.

Starlets are enjoying a dream start to their first ever NPFL campaign having gone unbeaten in their first five matches of the season. That is in direct contrast to their opponents Kano Pillars who are without a goal or a win after five league games.

A win for Starlets on Wednesday will take them joint top of the table with Plateau United.
