Plateau United head coach, Shola Adegun, was left unhappy with his side’s result against Kwara United in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League match played on Thursday, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Peace Boys battled hard in the match day 5 contest decided at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, Ilorin, on Thursday, but it was the Ilorin side that carried the day with a 2-1 win at the end of the game.
“We can not be satisfied with the outcome,” Adegun told pressmen after the match.
“We had an idea coming here of what we wanted to achieve. We probably had the chance to achieve it, and it’s one of those lessons that we have to learn. We have to grow in a certain way to be able to believe we can do certain things and play with that belief.
“We did not have that in the first half. We were satisfied with the small things. We are not happy with the result. We had good phases in the game that we can take solace in, but overall, you want to take something out of games like this,” the former Sporting Lagos coach added.
Junior Aimufua headed the Harmony Boys in front from an exquisite delivery from defender Aliu Salawudeen, before CHAN winger Vincent Temitope scored a goal of the season contender to drag the visitors level. Ten minutes from time, in-form Johnmark Aule bundled the winner home to deny the Peace Boys at least a point on the road.
“Credit to the opponent, they believed that they fought till the end. I think they were better off in the last ten to 15 minutes, and we were not able to put enough pressure on them in that moment to create opportunities. Congratulations to them, we will take both the good and the bad for ourselves,” the young tactician concluded.
Following the loss in Ilorin, Plateau United, who are 16th on the log with just six points from their opening six games of the season, will travel down to Ibadan for a match day seven clash with Shooting Stars on Sunday.
