President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali in Yenegoa expressed confidence that the nation’s Wrestlers will put up a good performance at this year’s Senior World Wrestling Championships in France.

Igali said “the team is in a very high spirit and I’m optimistic they’ll deliver. The adjusted United World Wrestling ranking in the female 55kg will be a boost to Adekuoroye”.

He revealed that “Before now the country have won three bronze medals coming from Ifeoma Ihenacho (back to back in 2009 and 2010) as well as Odunayo Adekuoroye in 2014. We hope to perfect the records this time around by winning the first ever gold medal at the world championships”.

The Nigeria Wrestling Team has been training in the Yenegoa, Bayelsa State capital for the past two weeks in preparation for the Championships.

Daniel Igali took up sponsorship of the training after the country’s sports ministry failed to camp the athletes.
