Nigeria to host 2019 World Para Powerlifting Championships

The International Para Powerlifting committee has granted Nigeria the 2019 hosting right of the World Championships. This is according to a confirmation statement from Jorge Moreno.

The letter read: “World Para Powerlifting would like to thank the Nigeria Paralympic Committee and the Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation for their application to host the Nigeria 2019 International Para Powerlifting Competition from 28-30 January 2019 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. On behalf of the World Para Powerlifting, I am writing to confirm the approval of your competition application.”

“World Para Powerlifting looks forward to working with you to finalise all the details and requirements as outlined in the application to host a very successful competition to heighten the success of Para Powerlifting in Nigeria and to further support the development of the sport across the region.”

Hence, with this latest development Ms Queen Uboh, the Federation President has confirmed that Nigeria will be hosting the world of Para powerlifting athletes come January 28th 2019.

Nigeria currently possesses the best para powerlifters in the World, who have three straight Commonwealth Games as well as World Cups and Championships.

With this approval to host 2019 Para Powerlifting World Championship, Nigeria has again made its mark among the global communities.
