Nigeria Customs storm Egypt for Women’s Club Championships

The female team of the Nigeria Customs Volleyball team is in Cairo for the 2019 Africa women’s Club Championships. The 2019 Africa women’s Club Championships will hold in Egypt from 15th to 25th March, 2019.

The team left from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday morning to Cairo aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

The winning coach of the 2018 Nigeria Volleyball League, Femi Akanni will tutor the Custom girls which has highly experienced Priscilla Agera as captain.

Femi Akanni said the players are well-prepared for the championships, even as he expressed confidence in their chances of surpassing their quarterfinal feat last season.

“After the National Volleyball league last year, we started preparations” he said. “We have been working on how our players can perform better at world level.”

 List of Nigeria Customs female players:

Priscilla Agera (Captain), Esther Duse, Franca Ikiedia, Helen Umeh, Esther Ahua, Kelechi Iwobi, Aisha Umar, Cynthia Ibe, Eunice Ijeagba, Tochi Nnoruga, Ladi Jalmet and Chidinma Aharanwa

Coaches: Femi Akanni (HC), Sunday Akpason and Jonah Adamu (Assistant Coaches)
