Newcastle United finally got their first win of the season after a convincing 3-0 hammering of a sorry West Ham side at Sports Direct.

Both sides went into the game looking for their first win of the season, but it was the home side who started on the front foot when Joselu gave them a 36th minute lead.

Ayoze Perez and Christian Atsu combined beautifully, before Ghanian winger, Atsu unselfishly played Joselu in for the opener.

It was 2-0 18 minutes before time, as Clark doubled Newcastle’s lead with a lovely header, following a Matt Ritchie’s cross.

Eight minutes later, it was game over as Mitrovic made it 3-0, with Perez involved again, to hand Rafa Benitez a very much deserved first win of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Swansea also picked their first points of the season, after goals from Tammy Abraham and Jordan Ayew gave them a 0-2 win over Crystal Palace, who are still looking for their first win under new manager, Frank de Boer, at Selhurst Park.

Surprise package, Huddersfield saw their 100% start to the campaign snapped after playing a goalless draw with visitors, Southampton.

At the Vicarage Road, it was another goalless affair, as Watford and new comers, Brighton shared the spoils.
