Nigeria’s sole representative at the ongoing World Judo Championship in Budapest, Hungary, Gofit Winnie begins her quest for a medal this Friday when she squares up with Georgia’s Odzelashvili Nino.

Gofit, in the -70kg female category is in pool D consisting of 10 judokas. If she advances, she’ll meet Russian Prokopenko Alena in the next round.

Other Judokas in pool D are Alvear Yuri of Colombia, Tsend-Ayush Naranjargal of Mongolia, Zupancic Kelita of Canada and China’s Yan Zi, Polling Kim of Netherland.

Gofit also has Matic Barbara of Croatia Spain’s Bernabeu Maria, Israel’s Bolder Linda, Prokopenko Alena of Russia to contend with as she progresses.
