Nigeria U18 female handball team is one game away from the next phase of the World Championship qualifiers. Nigeria beat Benin Republic 34-22 in their second game of the Zone 3 International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy in Niamey.

The combination of Plateau Peacock’s Hope Sunday, Seasiders Babes’, Khadijat Musibau; FCT’s, Favour Abdullahi and Kwara Academy’s Muhinat Yusuf ran riot on the Benin Republic girls in the first half of the game which ended 21-11.

In the second half, Plateau Peacocks’ goal stopper, Toyin Yusuf denied her opponents clear cut chances before the game ended in with 12 goals difference.

The cadet team will on Wednesday face Niger Republic in their last game of the campaign.

After a disappointing match against Togo, the Nigeria U20 pummelled Togo 31-19 in their second game of the tournament.

The John Uzor tutored side led by a goal margin after the blast of the first half whistle 10-9 but came out smoking hot in the second half.

The introduction of Edo Dynamos’, Sandra Godwin; Kada Queens, Victoria Moses and Owena Queens’, Oluwatosin Egbebiyi gave the junior team a chance to qualifier for the next round.
