Plateau Peacocks’ player, Joyce Mafwil on Sunday indicated interest to feature in international competitions for Nigeria in Handball.

Mafwil told aclsports.com that she had represented Nigeria in Taekwondo at the 2011 All African Games in Maputo.

The certified taekwondo coach said she wants to use her talent in handball to win laurels for the country.

The Pivot player said, “I have competed for Nigeria in the Taekwondo event at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo and several other championships and I am now ready to feature in handball. I did not play in any age grade handball tournaments for Nigeria but I believe I have what it takes to represent Nigeria in handball”.

“I am ready to contribute my own quota. I understand that there are many players in Nigeria and I’m ready to prove myself in any trials”, she added.

“My mission is not just to wear the colours of Nigeria at international tournaments but to win laurels. I have faith in the mission and I hope my heart desires get granted”, the central defender said.

Commenting on the match against Imo Grasshoppers, she said; we trained very well, watched the matches of Imo grasshoppers and studied every of their players. Without proper training, we would not have beaten the former African champions today.
