The Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL) Nigeria kicked off Nationwide. Initiated by Pace Sports and Entertainment and supported by the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The teams which have been grouped into two Sahel (Northern Universities) and Coastal (Southern Universities) saw action kick-off across all centres in what promises to be an exciting season of campus league football.

ACLSports was on ground for the mouth-watering Coastal zone opener between University of Lagos and University of Benin at the University of Lagos sports complex and it was nothing short of fun.

The game ended 1-1 thanks to a second half equalizer from Ikechukwu Okoro after Anthony had given Unilag an early lead. The team from Benin were however unlucky not to clinch all three points as they had the Lagos based team on the edge for the better part of the second half.

Two weeks from now, both teams will lock horns again Benin as the search for the King of campus football in Nigeria continues.
