Nigeria home based D’Tigers made it two consecutive loss in two days following their 81-55 defeat to Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maiga, Bamako, Mali.

The D’Tigers lost the first three quarters to their Congolese opponents and could only win the last quarter by a point 17-16 which was not enough to turn the game around in their favour.

Michael Afuwape Okiki scored 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals the only D’Tigers player who finished with double-digit points.

Azuoma Dike and Victor Anthony Koko however helped out on the boards with 6 and 7 rebounds made in the game.

Nigeria recorded 32.1% field goals and 6 three-pointers including 13/23 from the line.

Maxi Munanga Shamba had 18 points, 7 assists and 3 steals while Pitchou Kambuy Manga added 14 points for DR Congo.

Having topped Group B with two wins against Kenya and Nigeria, DR Congo have advanced to the quarter-finals.

Kenya and Nigeria who finished second and third with one win and no win respectively will play the qualification round for the quarter-finals.

Nigeria will play against the second place team in Group A while Kenya will face the third team in Group A.

The winners of the qualification round will qualify for the Quarter-Finals while the winners of the Quarter-Final advance to semi-finals.
