Making of Champions Junior athlete Favour Ekpekpe is expecting a good outing at the National Under-18 and Under-20 trials in Ilaro, Ogun State starting from March 14 to 16.

Ekpekpe missed out on the final team to the 2018 African Youth Games in Algiers, Algeria last year but intends to change that when the 2019 Junior trials begin on Thursday.

The 19 year old told ACLSports.com during MOC athlete unveiling that making the team to Abidjan is his main target.

“My main target is the African Junior trials which is starting this week. I want to do well there and be on the Nigerian team to Abidjan.”

Ekpekpe continued, “But I am also keeping my fingers crossed because there is also the World Championship and the All African Games coming up later this year.”

The newly sponsored Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company athlete said the scholarship will grant him all he requires to succeed in his career.

“The scholarship will go a long way helping me because as an athlete you need all the support, good nutrition, good health to run fast, get quality training so this scholarship will go a long way in helping me prepare throughout my whole career.”
