Nigerian trio of Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon and Anthony Nwakaeme are in superb scoring form at the moment, Eagles in Europe, EiE, can confirm.

The forwards lead a host of other Super Eagles stars who featured for their respective European clubs at the weekend.

Kicking off in France, where the duo of Osimhen and Simon continued their impressive form in front of goal in Ligue 1.

Osimhen needed just 14 minutes to net his 12th goal of the season for Lille as they went, saw and defeated their host, Angers, 0-2 on Friday.

It was a well-worked goal by his teammate, Jonathan Bamba, with Osimhen making no mistakes from close range, though he was made to wait to celebrate by the VAR.

The 20-year-old, who is one of Europe’s hottest youngsters at the moment, featured for 80 minutes before he was substituted.

On Saturday, it was the turn of Simon as he continued from where he stopped against champions, PSG, with another goal-scoring display for Nantes.

Simon made it three goals in as many matches when he drew Nantes level after Stephy Mavididi’s opener for Dijon.

But four more goals, two from either team, meant the match ended with both teams sharing the spoils following an exhilarating 3-3 draw.

Simon would be substituted before the break because of an injury.

The winger has now scored or assisted 10 goals (five goals, five assists) in 22 outings for Nantes in the Ligue 1 this season.

Still, in France, Bordeaux defeated Metz 1-2 away but did so without their Super Eagles duo of Josh Maja and Samuel Kalu, who were not listed for the road trip.

Ola Aina and Torino are in really bad shape following another unfortunate defeat in the Italian Serie A.

Aina featured from start to finish but could do nothing as Sampdoria walked away with three points after a 1-3 win for the visitors.

It was the fifth consecutive loss for Aina and Torino in the league.

Udinese held Brescia to a 1-1 draw on Sunday with William Troost-Ekong on from start to finish.

There was a scare at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia when Kenneth Omeruo suffered what looked like a serious injury.

Omeruo was the only Nigerian on the pitch, but was substituted on 75 minutes following that injury as Levante hosted and defeated Leganes 2-0.

His compatriot, Chidozie Awaziem was not listed as he served his one-game ban following a red card.

Another Super Eagles player who suffered defeat was Ramon Azeez, he fell 1-0 at Atletico Madrid with his team, Granada and played for 90 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze enjoyed a cameo as Villarreal earned a point at Real Valladolid after a 1-1 draw.

Chukwueze was a 72-minute substitute and hardly had enough time to influence the game, though he created a chance and key pass.

For Oghenekaro Etebo, Getafe picked up another valuable win without him, as he continues to wait for his time to make an impression.

Getafe defeated Valencia 3-0 with Etebo not listed at all.

Shehu Abdullahi scored an incredible solo goal as Bursaspor defeated their hosts, Osmanlispor 2-4.

Abdullah who played from midfield netted the last goal of the day for his side as they continued to push for a swift return to the Turkish top flight following relegation last season.

To Scotland, where Joe Aribo helped Rangers qualify for the next round of the Scottish FA Cup on Sunday.

Aribo scored the second goal of the day as Rangers defeated Hamilton Academical 1-4. He played from start to finish.

Finally, while the English Premier League is partially on break, Alex Iwobi was a spectator as Everton defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 to continue their revival under Carlo Ancelotti.

The playmaker spent his time on the bench as the Toffees picked up three valuable points.

However, it was business as usual in the Championship where Semi Ajayi helped West Brom to a clean sheet.

The Baggies are back at the top of the table after a 0-2 victory over Millwall.

Ajayi was very good for WBA, winning 100% of his tackles, 5 aerial duels, and one interception.

Bonus

I am calling this now, it will take a miracle for Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, to ignore the in-form Anthony Nwakaeme.

Easily one of Trabzonspor player of the season in the Turkish league, Nwakaeme cannot stop scoring.

He was at it again on Saturday as Trabzonspor won 0-2 at Genclerbirligi. Nwakaeme did not just score the winning goal with seven minutes to go, but was also the man of the match.

The wide forward completed the most dribbles (4), created the most chances (3), registered three key passes and won the most duels (9) in the game.

The goal was his eighth of the season for his club, meaning, he has now been involved in 13 goals (eight goals, five assists) in 19 appearances in the Super Lig.

He has also scored or assisted at least nine (9) goals in his last seven (7) matches.

Surely, that deserves a Super Eagles call-up next month when international football returns for the new year.
