Balogun has struggled for game time at Brighton since he joined the Seagulls on a free transfer back in 2018, with his last outing for the club coming on April 28, 2019, against Tottenham.

But he returned to action on Tuesday night as Brighton defeated Bristol Rovers 1-2 in the EFL Cup second round.

The 31-year-old was impressive for the Seagulls against Rovers, winning 100% of his tackles, three duels, two blocks and also won an incredible 10 aerial duels.

Balogun was part of the Super Eagles team that won a bronze medal at the 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, hosted by Egypt.
