Nigeria Super Eagles have returned to training in Dar es Salaam following the thumping defeat at the hands of Sudan in their last game at the ongoing CHAN tournament, www.aclsports.com reports.

Eric Chelle’s side lost 4-0 to the Falcons of Jediane in their second group D clash at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday night. Since then, the team has not been in training until Thursday evening.

The side’s technical crew, officials, and players made a short trip from Zanzibar to Tanzania’s capital, Dar es Salaam, early in the day before going to the TS-Law School pitch for their first session ahead of the clash with Congo on Tuesday.

Apart from goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena, who has been ruled out of the competition due to a knee injury, other players took part in the first training session that started around 6pm (local time) under the guidance of Eric Chelle and his assistants. The team will train again on Friday as they continue to prepare for the clash against the Congolese side, who are hoping to reach the last eight with a win against the winless Eagles.

The Super Eagles side, already out of the competition, will hope to redeem their image when they take on Congo in their final group match on Tuesday night at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8pm local time (6pm Nigerian time).
