He said, “I am satisfied with the level of play these players have exhibited; some young girls’ and boys have been very fantastic and we are likely to host U19 African Beach Volleyball Nations Cup. I am happy because the commission has seen players who can key in and represent this country; I am confidence we can present players irrespective of where the Nations Cup will take place”.

Nimrod who doubles as the Secretary General, Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 revealed that Nigeria players will embark on West African tour before the commencement of the Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifiers next June.

He said, “In beach volleyball, Africa has only one ticket to Paris; the players will be called to camp on 27th April, 2024 (this weekend) and they will be having West African tour in preparations for the qualifiers in Morocco. When Nigeria won bronze medal at the African Games in Ghana, they made it to the qualifying series of the Olympic Games.

“In the last three Olympic Qualifiers, Nigeria has always finished second which is sad. With the performance of Nigeria women’s team, the beach commission is impressed and the country should be looking forward to clinch the sole ticket to Paris 2024 Olympic Games”.
