World record holder Tobi Amusan, has called out the AFN over the quality of kits supplied to athletes ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, www.aclsports.com reports.
Amusan said Nigerian athletes continue to receive inadequate and inferior gear, unlike their counterparts from other countries who are given complete training and competition kits properly packaged.
In a video posted on her social media page on Friday, the 27-year-old expressed her frustration, saying: “This country will steady embarrass you.” She added that the poor treatment of athletes is a major reason many switch allegiance, noting in Pidgin: “Una come talk say make people no switch allegiance, una never ready.”
Amusan is among 15 Nigerian athletes who will be competing at the Championships, which run from 13–21 September in Tokyo, as she targets another global title in the 100m hurdles.
