The 2018 final matches of Nigeria’s Club Cup competition, the AITEO Cup have been rescheduled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), www.aclsports.com reports.

Semi final matches in the competition are billed to hold, as scheduled, on Wednesday, October 10 but the final earlier touted to hold on Sunday, October 14, 2018 has been rescheduled for the midweek of 24th.

“NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi confirmed on Tuesday that the grand finale of the women’s competition will hold at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Tuesday, 23rd October, while the grand finale of the men’s competition will be played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, capital of Delta State on Wednesday, 24th October,” read a statement from the NFF on Tuesday evening.

No reasons were given for the rescheduling but it may not be unconnected to the fact that Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya are sandwiched by the earlier October 14 date.

In the meantime, both semi-final matches in the Men’s competition will hold on Wednesday while only one in the women’s draw will be staged.

Kano Pillars will face Katsina United at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos while Enugu Rangers and Nasarawa United will slug it out at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano to determine the two finalists in the men’s competition.

In the women’s draw, last season’s beaten finalist Ibom Angels will face Edo Queens in the first semi-final game at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri while the second semi-final, an old Rivers derby between Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens have been put on hold due to an eligibility case involving the former.

Should Rivers Angels who won the tournament last year win the case, they will face Bayelsa Queens at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Friday.
