Former Nigeria U19 player, Chris Udah has revealed that the men’s volleyball team is not afraid to face any top team ahead of the 13th African Games in Ghana this month.

Udah expressed joy after making the final 12 man list released by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.

The former Gisagara Volleyball Club told www.aclsports.com that the expectation of all the players is to win a medal at the African Games.

He said, “We are not scared of any team that will be grouped with us at the 13 Africa Games. We have quality players on the ground and the coaches have been able to inject other innovation into the team.

“Other teams should be the one feeling the heat and not us.”

He further said “I am glad to be selected into the African Games team; I give God all the glory for this opportunity and the coaches for believing in me. Hopefully, I will do my best and make the country proud.

“Currently, our expectation is to come home with a medal. We have to take it step by step, have the winning mentality in the team and the team can go all the way. The Arabs have been consistent but we are definitely going to give them a good fight”.

Commenting on the defending champions Cameroon, Udah said, “We can only respect them outside the court but when we get on the court, it is going to be a different ball game.”
