AFN Set For All-Comers competition In Ozoro

The Nigeria Athletics Federation (AFN) will begin their 2020 calendar year with the All-Comer Athletics Competitions in Ozoro, Delta State.

The championship is expected to take centre stage from 13th to 15th February, 2020.

According to a statement to all stakeholders signed by the AFN Director General, SY Pepple, said that the athletics open competition is aimed at selecting the best home-based talents that will represent the country at the upcoming Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), Region II Athletics Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.

“I am directed by the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Hon. Engr. Ibrahim Shehu-Gusau, to inform you that the AFN All-Comers is scheduled to take place in Ozoro, Delta State between 13-15February, 2020.”

“This is in accordance with the Calendar of the AFN released on Thursday, January 2, 2020.”

“The Competition, which is Open, aims at selecting athletes for the camping towards the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), Region II Athletics Championships, Kaduna 2020 and other competitions scheduled for 2020, including the Tokyo Olympic Games.”

The statement further reads “All States, Clubs, Institutions and Individuals eligible for the Championships should forward their entries to afn.entries@gmail.com on or before Midnight,  Wednesday, February 12, 2020.”

“Please note that submissions will not be accepted at the venue of the competition.”
