Nigeria Super Eagles will perfect their preparation for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 clash with Cameroon with a “closed door” training session on Thursday evening in Alexandria.

The Eagles finished second in Group B after an unexpected 0-2 loss to Madagascar on Sunday and will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon who were also held by Republic of Benin in their final Group F game.

Gernot Rohr’s Eagles resumed full training for Saturday’s game on Wednesday at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology football pitch in Alexandria and will take to the same pitch starting from 5:30pm on Thursday evening for their major tactical session before the game.

The session is expected to last for ninety minutes and will be behind closed doors. It is during this session that Rohr and his technical crew are expected to perfect their strategy for the game which may include a likely switch to a 3-5-2 system.

Team captain Mikel John Obi is expected to miss the session due to a knee injury while right back Abdullahi Shehu will continue his recovery from his hamstring injury.

Left back Jamilu Collins has returned to full training on Wednesday and has played himself to contention for the game against Cameroon.

Nigeria vs Cameroon will come up at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday starting from 6PM local time, 5:00PM in Nigeria.
