Nigeria handball national team goalkeeper, Oladunjoye Adamolugbe says the country stands a better chance of podium finish at the forthcoming 13th African Games in Ghana.

Nigeria has been drawn alongside African Champion, Egypt, Mali and Togo in Group A, facing Egypt in their opening match.

The Qatar Sports Club of Doha Goalkeeper told www.aclsports.com that the calibre of the team can pull a surprise in Ghana.

He said, “The Golden Arrows of Nigeria are fully focused on podium finish in Ghana. I could not make it to the African Nations Cup because of club commitments but I watched a very determined side.

“On my part, I will ensure I prevent the opponents from conceding goals. I am in the Qatar Handball League and it has similarities with the North African League.

“The coaches were monitoring my games in Qatar and I promise to give 100% when the game begins. I want to believe that Nigeria will scale through the group stages and qualify straight into the semifinals.

The former Police Machine players praised his teammates for winning the Presidents Cup at the recently concluded 2024 African Senior Men’s Handball Nations Cup in Egypt.

He said, “I want to congratulate my teammates for making the country proud at the Nations Cup. We were able to lift the President’s Cup after facing some opposition in the 8th to 9th place match.
