NFF Young Player of the Year Ikouwem Udo Utin and his home-based Super Eagles teammates Peter Eneji and Nura Mohammed have been invited to the national Under 20 side in preparation for the qualifying series of 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

The trio were part of the Super Eagles side which lost in the final of the African Nations Championship to hosts Morocco earlier this month.

In the list of players released by Nigeria’s Football Federation (NFF) on Friday, twenty-eight players were called to report to camp on Sunday, February 25 with the team coached by Paul Aigbogun.

The trio were joined in the list by experienced league campaigners Douglas Achiv, Adesina Gata and Abiodun Joseph as well as Kano Pillars duo of Jamilu Muhammad and Alassan Ibrahim.

Akwa United’s enterprising duo Aniekeme Okon and Aminu Nuhu were rewarded for their early season form while MFM stars Jesse Akila, Waheed Adebayo and goalkeeper Egbe Ospina also earned call-ups.

“All invited players are to arrive at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja between Sunday, 25thFebruary and Monday, 26thFebruary, with their international passports, birth certificates and training kits,” added the release from the NFF.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the last edition of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations staged last year. The 2019 edition will be hosted by Niger Republic.
