The Nigerian duo of Victor Moses and Ola Aina were absent as Chelsea thrashed Hull City 4-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge. Both Nigeria internationals missed what was a superb performance from the home side, who blew the Tigers away thanks to a brilliant first half display.

While Moses watched on as an unused substitute, Aina was nowhere to be found as he was ineligible to play for Hull against his parent club, Chelsea, who he joined the championship side on loan from.

Two goals from Willian Borges, who was the best player on the pitch, and another two from Pedro Rodriguez and Olivier Giroud, who scored his first goal for Chelsea.

The win sealed an easy passage to the quarterfinals for Antonio Conte’s men, who seem to be getting back to their best following that excellent win against West Brom Albion with another solid performance.

Chelsea take on Barcelona next in the Champions League, while the Tigers turn their focus to the championship.

Leicester outfox Sheffield United

Meanwhile, at the King Power stadium, Leicester City secured a place in the next round with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

Jamie Vardy’s first ever FA Cup goal for Leicester in the second half proved to be the difference, as Claude Puel’s side also take their place in the quarterfinals.

The duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were on parade for the Foxes, with both players lasting the duration of the game.

However, it was defensive midfielder, Ndidi, who covered himself in glory, as he was one of the best rated players, while Iheanacho struggled to reach the heights of the previous round.
