First Bank Basketball Club dug deep to record their second straight win at the 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women following a 76-64 points victory over AS-Vita Club on Monday.

Nkechi Akashili scored 21 points and 5 rebounds as she powered her team to their second straight win at the Kilamba Arena in Angola.

The Elephant Girls led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter and set up a 10-point lead in the second quarter to lead 36-26 heading to the break.

The Congolese team closed the gap in the third quarter but the Bankers ensured their lead stayed intact heading to the last quarter (56-42).

A combined effort from Minata Fofana and Chioma Udeaja proved decisive for First Bank as their contibution in the last quarter ensured victory.

Maweja Kapinga and Ortice Kabobo scored 15 points each while Marlene Matokio Ngobeleza added 10 points for AS Vita Club.

The Elephant Girls will next play Groupment Sporting des Petroliers (GSP) of Algeria on Tuesday.
