Petra Kvitova knocks Muguruza out of US Open to book a quarter final clash with Venus Williams

In December 2016, Petra Kvitova wasn’t sure she would be able to hold a racket again. The 13th seed Kvitova upset 3rd seed Garbine Muguruza 7-6 6-3 to advance to the U.S. Open final eight for the second time in her career.

The Czech was sidelined for five months after being stabbed in her left playing hand by an intruder at her home in Czech Republic.
