Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has unveiled his provisional 27-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 with Nantes star Mostafa Mohamed the key omission, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Pharaohs will make only their fourth World Cup appearance next month in North America and will be hoping to make an impact in what will likely be Mohamed Salah’s final World Cup appearance.

Egyptian legend Hossam Hassan has included both Salah and Manchester City star Omar Marmoush in his selection late on Wednesday night but has left out Mostafa who was in the team to the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to Morocco.

Hassan has also included Barcelona Under 19’s uncapped starlet Hamza Abdelkarim in the selection which will be pruned down to twenty-six in a week’s time.
