2024 African Games Qualifiers: NVBF invites 37 players

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has invited 37 players to camp in preparation for the 2024 African Games qualifiers billed for Lagos from 4th to 8th January, www.aclsports.com gathered.

According to a list obtained by www.aclsports.com, 19 men and 18 women are expected to report to Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) in Kaduna state on 26th December, 2023 while training commences on 27th December 2023.

Topping the list of invited women’s player is the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League, Maryam Ibrahim; versatile and Best Spiker, Ijeoma Ukpabi (COAS Spikers); Best Opposite, Albertina Francis; Best Libero, Jummai Bitrus; Best Blocker, Ifunanya Udeagbala and Best Setter, Aliyah Usman.

The Most Valuable Player at the 2023 Girls U17 African Volleyball Nations Championship, Mirabel Onyegwu made the list while experienced players like Sharon Achi (Setter), Sandra Osabor (Middle Blocker) as well as Happy Wushilang (Outside Hitters) got recalled.

In the men’s squad, Vincent Mathias (Best Attacker at the 2023 Premier League); Moses Gana (Best Blocker), Lucky Farouq (Best Sever) and Ismail Tiamiyu (Best Libero) were called to camp.

The Most Valuable Player at the 2023 National Division 1 Volleyball League, Morris Dikiyai and Best Setter, Bruno Ibe as well as Nigeria U17 sensational, Elisha Anebi got the national invite.

The full list of Nigeria Senior Men and women's volleyball 🏐 teams invited to camp for the 2024 African Games Qualifiers in Lagos next year.

The camping for the national teams resume on December 26th at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna State.

The men’s team will be handled by Musa Baba-Musa, Taiwo Oladipupo and Yohanna Tswevini while the men’s team will be handled by Samuel Ajayi, Priscilla Agera and Ezechukwu Oguamalam.
