The United World Wrestling (UWW) will today decide on who to host the 2018 Africa Junior, Cadet and Senior Wrestling Championships.

Nigeria and Tunisia are bidding to host the 2018 Africa Wrestling Championship that is scheduled to take place in February 2018.

ACLSports.com gathered that the decision was moved from yesterday to today due to the absence of some Bureau members.

The Rivers State Governor Neysom Wike had in July expressed readiness to host the African Championships when the UWW Africa Boss, Fouad Meskout visited during a two day facilities inspection in Port Harcourt.

It is on record that since 1976 till date, Nigeria has not hosted the African Championship.

Sub Sahara African Wrestling Federation are throwing their weight behind the West Africa giant due to its dominance in the sports and proximity to surrounding Africa nations.

It will be recalled that in January 2016, Sub-Saharan African Wrestling Federations raised concern over their participation in the 2016 Continental Championship and the Africa/Oceania Qualifying Tournament which serve as a means for the Olympics.
