“It means a lot to me to win this tournament especially after struggling with my performance in the last few months,” Mohamed told aclsports.com moments after the match.

“I’m really happy to get my confidence back and this (winning the tournament) means a lot to me.”

Meanwhile, in the women’s category, it was an easy ride to the title for number one seed, Millie Tomlinson, who defeated her counterpart from Egypt, Menna Hamed.

England’s Tomlinson defeated Hamed 11-4, 13-11, 11-7 to seal her place as the 2018 women’s winner, replacing last year’s winner, Nigeria’s Yemisi Olatunji.

After easily taking the first set, the tournament’s top ranked player was pushed to her limit in the second set.

Hamed fought back to take a 7-5 lead, but couldn’t hold on to her advantage as Tomlinson recovered to take the set 13-11.

Tomlinson would go ahead to seal the third set 11-7, confirming herself as the undisputed women’s champion.

“I’m very happy (to have won),” Tomlinson told aclsports.com “It was a tough game for me.”

Following the results, Zaheed takes home the cash prize of $25,000.00 as the winner of the men’s category, while Tomlinson gets $10,000.00 for her efforts.
