Egypt international, Mohamed Salah reached a milestone as Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield. Sadio Mane gave the Reds a first half lead, before Salah doubled their advantage in the second half.

Roberto Firmino sealed the win with a late third to complete a fine week for Liverpool

It was Salah’s 30th league goal of the season, becoming the first African to do so in the Premier League, eclipsing Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend, Didier Drogba.

Salah, who has now scored 40goals in all competitions for the Reds, also becomes the eighth player in PL history to score 30 plus goals in a single campaign.

The result means Jurgen Klopp’s side have now gone 19 games without defeat in the PL, and sees them move within a point of second place rivals, Manchester United, who play West Brom Albion on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Champions, Chelsea, came from two goals down to beat Southampton 3-2 at Saints Mary’s. Dusan Tadic and Jan Bednarek gave the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead after the hour mark.

However, three goals in the space of eight minutes, inspired by second half substitute, Olivier Giroud, turned the game in favour of the Blues.

Nine minutes after he replaced Alvaro Morata, Giroud pulled one back for Antonio Conte’s side, before Eden Hazard drew them level five minutes later.

With 12minutes to go, Giroud completed his brace and Chelsea’s comeback when he scored the winner to seal the win and all three points.

While a brilliant second performance, the result still leaves Chelsea fifth on the table, seven points behind fourth place Tottenham, who have a game in hand.
