Volleyball: Nigeria Customs win opening match

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) of Nigeria on Tuesday beat Injs of Cameroon 3-1 in Pool D at the ongoing 2018 Women’s African Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.

Injs drew the first blood in the first set winning narrowly by 25-23 points in the Hall A, Nigeria’s representatives turned the table around triumphing 25-23 points in the second set.

The gallant Customs girls wasted no time in the 3rd set flying over the Injs 24-14 points.

The 4th set was electrifying as both girls gave their best but the Nigeria girls got the much needed points settling the game 25-21 points.

In Pool B, defending champion CFC Carthage of Tunisia dispatched Algeria’s Chlef by three straight sets (25-12, 25-15 and 25-14), while, Vision of Uganda beat Congo’s DGSP by three straight sets (25-22, 25-23 and 25-18) in the Pool C.

In the opening match, Harare city of Zimbabwe zoomed pass BDF of Botswana 18-25, 24-21, 25-20 and 25-21.

Nigeria Customs will on Wednesday take on Prisons of Kenya by 4pm local time.
