The minister of sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung on Tuesday met behind close door with the President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali.

This is not unconnected with the threat by the Nigeria Wrestling Team to boycott the commonwealth games in Gold Coast, Australia in April.

The wrestlers in a letter signed by the captain of the male and female team, Daniel Amas and Blessing Oborududu claimed the federal government treats them like second class citizens despite bringing glory to their fatherland.

They claimed that accumulated allowances including that of the African Wrestling Championships held in Port Harcourt are among the rationale behind the boycott.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Olusade Adesola was spotted with the president NWF, Daniel Igali.

When aclsports.com approached Igali, he refused commenting on the issue but his body language shows that there might be a head way for the wrestling team.

Ministry may have conceded to raising the money to pay the protesting wrestlers.

Last week, the Ministry which had a deadlocked meeting with the athletes on February 23rd, 2018.
