Angola are no longer at the 2019 World Men’s Handball Championship after losing their fifth group match on a (33-28) score to fellow Africans Egypt who have progressed to the Main Round.

Tunisia have also made it to the Main Round thanks to a (32-27) victory over Austria in Group C final matchday.

The Main Round is made up of 12 teams split into two groups 1 & 2 with six teams each. Egypt and Tunisia find themselves in Group 2.

Late Saturday, the Carthage Eagles lost their first game of the MR on a (23-35) scoreline to none other than Sweden, who topped Group D with 10 points.

Only the first two teams of each group of the Main Round after three rounds of matches will qualify for the semi-finals.

Tunisia have two more games to play: against Hungary on Sunday and against Egypt on Thursday.

The Pharaohs will open their MR campaign on Sunday against Norway, who placed second in Group C with 8 points behind hosts Denmark (10 points).

Denmark’s hurdle awaits Egypt on Monday before Tunisia’s game.

The 2019 World Men’s Handball Championship will come to an end on January 27.
