Nigeria Customs Service on Monday beat AS Douanes and made history by qualifying for their first semifinals at the ongoing 2021 Women’s Club African Championship in Kelibia, Tunisia.

Nigeria Customs Service beat AS Douanes of Burkina Faso 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-11) in their fifth match of the championship finishing second in Pool B with 11 points, 4 behind leaders Carthage of Tunisia and Pipeline of Kenya are third with 10 points.

Captain of Nigeria Customs Volleyball team, Aisha Faigba told www.aclsports.com that making it to the semifinals of the 2021 Women’s Club African Championship is a great accomplishment for the team.

Faigba revealed that the target is to ensure Nigeria Customs Service returns home with a medal in order to be ranked among the best teams in Africa

She said, “Qualifying for the semifinals of the Women’s Club African Championship is a dream comes true for us as a team. Since we have been attending the Club Championship, the highest we had reached is the quarterfinals. I and my teammates are super excited about this feat recorded.

“The team has been cooperative on and off the court and they make the leadership of the team very easy for me. When w were playing against AS Douanes the only thing on my mind was how to carry my team to victory and I am happy God was able to give us our desired result”.

“The target is to come back to Nigeria with a medal around our neck because it is long overdue”, she told www.aclsports.com
