Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray continued their fine start to the 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig season with the 4-0 rout of Kayserispor, www.aclsports.com reports.
The former Lille striker, who completed a permanent transfer to Gala in the summer, marked his first start of the season with a goal.
Due to his late arrival, the Nigerian lacked match fitness and did not feature in the first game of the season against Gaziantep, coming on as a substitute for 30 minutes in the home win over Karagumruk in the second game. However, he was handed his first start of the season as Gala chased their third successive win of the season at Kayserispor.
The hosts made the Turkish champions work a bit, but after the first goal went in just after the half-hour mark, there was no stopping Buruk Okan’s side. Eren Elmali bundled a rebound home in the 36th minute, and a minute after the break, he completed his brace with a header from Leroy Sane’s cross.
Despite those two goals, the hosts remained resolute at the back, determined not to concede more, but they failed in the final moments of the game as Gala added two more goals. Osimhen was on hand to finish a simple ball from Nicolo Zaniolo in the 86th minute, before Leroy Sane capped off his fine performance with a goal in injury time.
It is a brilliant start for the Turkish champions, who have now won their first three games of the new season without conceding a goal. As for Osimhen, he will be keen to get more competitive minutes under his belt before turning up for Nigeria in next month’s World Cup Qualifiers.
