Super Falcons forward, Chinaza Uchendu who made history with SC Braga by winning the Women’s Portuguese League for the first time has revealed her excitement at the incredible feat achieved with her team.

In 17 appearances for SC Braga, Chinaza Uchendu scored 6 goals and 14 assists as Braga emerged Champions with a game to spare after only just joining the team in July, 2018.

Speaking to www.aclsports.com on helping her team to a maiden league title and how difficult it was, Uchendu said “From the beginning of the season when the whole thing started till when we won the League it wasn’t easy at all, because we worked very hard as a team and I worked hard too personally apart from the team’s training.

“Winning the title means everything to me. I am very fulfilled because I was able to reach my personal target which is to make history with this team and I’m very glad I did,” the 2018 AWCON winning forward added.

Making the switch to Portugal, given the different cultural and language barrier Uchendu says settling down wasn’t so difficult because the Portuguese are very accommodating.

“Well it wasn’t so hard to settle down because some of them speak English and aside that I also have my translator. In addition to that “the country as a whole is so loving that they could make one forget you don’t speak the same language because they are very accommodating and caring,” she said.

With the FIFA Women’s World Cup exactly a month away from kick-off and a few weeks before the final Super Falcons list is made public, Uchendu who is expected in the Super Falcons World Cup camp said “I hope to give my best and also prove that I should be in the team.”
