Nasarawa Amazons’ chances of qualifying for this season’s Super 4 tournament is in danger following a 2-0 loss to  NWPL debutants Kaduna Queens.

Having played four games so far in which only the top team in all four groups will qualify for the Super 4, defending champions Bayelsa Queens tops Group C with nine points while Sunshine Queens follow closely with seven points and Nasarawa Amazons with a distant four points in third position on the table.

In Group A, Vivian Ikechukwu’s 45th minute strike earned Rivers Angels a crucial away win over Osun Babes as the AITEO Cup finalists tightened their grip at the top of the group. FC Robo is however not giving up on top spot yet by clinching all three points at home to Delta Queens Courtesy of Olabiyi’s first half goal. The Lagos-based team are currently second with just two points behind Rivers Angels in top spot.

The toughest battle for a Super 4 slot is perhaps in Group B where Edo Queens and Adamawa Queens are separated by just one point with the latter topping the table with eight points. Little wonder both teams played out a goalless draw in Matchday four of the NWPL in Edo state.

Goals from Chinyere Njoku and Idike Jiroro ensured a 2-0 win over debutants Dream Star Ladies which meant all three points went to Heartland Queens who sit pretty in third with four points.

Confluence Queens struck a late blow to bottom placed Abia Angels in Group D to maintain their lead at the top on matchday 4. An 82nd minute equaliser from Adoo Yina earned the leaders an important point away from home as the battle for a Super 4 slot continues.

While that was on, Ibom Angels made light work of newcomers Invincible Angels with a convincing 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Ogoma Joseph and Damilola Koku in both halves.
