Nigerian youngster, Josh Maja has scored his first-ever hat-trick after an excellent performance against Nimes in the Ligue 1, www.ACLSports.com can report.

Maja was the star of the show as Bordeaux demolished Nimes 6-0 at home during their Ligue 1 clash on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old contributed four of the six goals scored by his club, with two of them coming in either half against the bottom club.

His first half brace gave Bordeaux a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break, before he completed his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half to extend their lead to 3-0.

Josh Maja then turned provider five minutes after as Nicholas de Preville latched onto his pass to put the game beyond the reach of Nimes at 4-0.

He would be substituted with 15 minutes left to play to a rousing ovation from his home fans as his teammate, Otavio joined in on the act with a brace of his own to wrap up the win.

With his goals tonight, Maja has taken his tally to five goals in 13 appearances with all the goals, however, coming in his last three matches for Bordeaux.

Maja also becomes the first Bordeaux player since Chieck Diabate in 2014 to score three goals in the same Ligue 1 match.

The England-born Super Eagles youngster has already played for Nigeria, after making his debut in the 2-2 draw against Ukraine in an international friendly back in September.

Josh Maja came on for Victor Osimhen in added time in that exciting encounter.
