IHF Youth World C’ship: Nigeria bows to Bahrain

Bahrain beat Nigeria 36-28 in the second game of Group C at the ongoing 2019 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The captain of Nigeria U19 team, Ibrahim Dikko promised to fight back in their second match against North Macedonia.

He said his teammates were not happy losing to Bahrain in a tensed game but believes that the team will qualify for the next round

Dikko said, “Losing our first match against Bahrain was very painful; we came prepared but unfortunately we bowed to Bahrain. My teammates are feeling bad right now but our coach has told us to put ourselves back to shape because we have other matches to play”.

The Lagos Seasiders player further said, “Our next match is against the host country; North Macedonia and the crowd will love to intimidate us. We are hungry for victory and will defeat North Macedonia.

Mountada Derb Sultan Handball Club of Morocco player, Farouk Yusuf and COAS Shooters player, Joseph Gbawuan scored seven goals, Lagos seasiders player, Ibrahim Dikko scored four goals, Lagos Seasiders; Hakeem Salami, Sokoto Rima’s; Bello Muhammad and COAS Shooters player, Abdulrahaman Abdullazeez scored three goals while COAS Shooter player, Bilyaminu Sani scored one goal.
