The chairman of Adamawa State Handball Association, Hon Hammanjoda Farang said the state U15 players are basically at the national U12/15 handball championship for exposure.

The National male/female U12/15 handball championship will hold at the Giginya Memorial Stadium Complex, Sokoto state from 29th March to 7th March, 2020.

Farang told www.aclsports.com that Adamawa state has been absent from handball championship for a long time and this has affected the growth of the game.

He disclosed that attending the national championship is a step in bringing back the glory of handball in Adamawa state.

Farang said, “The aim is to expose the lads as we are on a developmental process of bringing back the glory of handball in the state”.

He said the target given to the players is to be among the last four teams after the end of the championship.

He added that few years from now, Adamawa players will feature in the age grade and main national teams.

He said, “The only target for now is to get to the last four and lastly by the grace of God in the nearest future, players from the state will be part of the national teams ranging from the age grade to the main national team”.
