Junior Tigers of Nigeria made it two straight wins after trashing Angola 90-57 to qualify for the quarter final of the FIBA Africa U16 Championship in Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Reuben Chinyelu once again put up an outstanding performance for the Junior Tigers recording his third double-double in three games. Chinyelu played a pivotal role at both ends of court as he made 13 points and 24 rebounds in 37 minutes.

Four other Tigers finished on double digits: Farouk Isah (27), Precious Ikpe (19), Joy Ighovodjia (14) and Bormini Victor (13).

Isah shot 3 three pointers in the first half and added one more in the second half as he made 4/8 from behind the arc and shot 75% from the line.

Nigeria outscored their Angolan opponent in all four quarters and left them with no fighting chance as they led by 23 points at half time.

Fabio Antonio and Valdemar Avelino both combined for 27 points against Nigeria.

In the other Group A game played, Algeria failed to record their first win of the competition as they lost 75-51 to three-time champions Egypt.

Nigeria will play their last Group game against Algeria on Wednesday while Angola will come up against host Cape Verde.
