Former Senegal international Omar Daf has been appointed as coach of French club Sochaux following the dismissal of José Manuel Aira.

Daf, a former defender, had two playing spells at Sochaux between 1997–2009 and 2012–2013, putting up more 200 appearances.

The 41-year-old was the coach of Sochaux reserve team before joining the technical staff of Senegal national team ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Daf has twice held the top position at Sochaux but as an interim coach.
