Super Eagles stars continued their busy schedule in the festive season, especially those of them in the English Premier League with Alex Iwobi the peak of the pack.

For the second consecutive game, Iwobi was at the end of everything good for his side, Arsenal, who took apart Fulham at the Emirates stadium.

The playmaker did not disappoint as his team’s creator in chief in the absence of German star, Mesut Ozil.

Like in their loss to Liverpool at the weekend, the Nigerian set up Arsenal’s opening goal, finding team mate, Granit Xhaka with a precise cross to put them 1-0 ahead.

Despite creating four chances in the game, he would be denied further glory by his fellow profligate African, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Iwobi was on for 83 minutes before he was replaced by little known British born Nigerian youngster, Bukayo Saka.

At Goodison Park, defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, had a quiet afternoon as Leicester City returned to winning ways against Everton.

However, Ndidi still contributed with one hundred percent tackles won and dribbles completed, with six aerial duels as Jamie Vardy scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Ndidi was on from start to finish, while his compatriot at the club, Kelechi Iheanacho, was not listed for that trip.

At the Olympic stadium in London, Leon Balogun‘s bench role continued as Brighton & Hove Albion held their hosts, West Ham United, to a thrilling 2-2 draw.

It was another thrilling encounter at the Vitality stadium, as Watford and Bournemouth played out a 3-3 draw. Watford did all the hard work without their Nigerian striker, Isaac Success, who played just a minute after coming on as a 90 minute substitute.

In the English second division, Oghenekaro Etebo made his return to Stoke City’s starting XI but it was not enough to inspire them to three points at home to Bristol City.

The midfield powerhouse played the duration of the game but they lost 2-0.

Rotterdam United won for the first time in five games with Semi Ajayi in action. Ajayi won no tackles, nor interceptions in their 2-1 victory over Preston North End.

Elsewhere, the Portuguese Liga returned with Mikel Agu in action for his modest side, Vitoria de Setubal. He featured from start to finish in their 1-0 defeat at Boavista.
