Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini scored a brace to send PSG Féminine into the Coupe de France semi-finals following a 2–1 victory over Dijon on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.
A superb free-kick in the first half, followed by a late winner in the second, sealed qualification for the Parisians at the Gaston-Gérard Stadium, just days after their LFFP Cup final defeat to Lyon.
PSG withstood early pressure from Dijon, with goalkeeper Mary Earps producing key saves to keep the hosts at bay. The breakthrough arrived in the 4th minute of first-half stoppage time when the Nigerian midfielder curled home a brilliant set-piece to hand the visitors the lead.
Dijon responded with greater intensity after the restart and drew level in the 54th minute, as Léa Declercq converted from the penalty spot.
The Parisians pushed for a decisive goal, with Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade injecting energy and attacking threat in the final third. As the match looked set for a stalemate, Echegini struck in the 87th minute to complete her brace and secure PSG’s place in the final four, where they will face Paris FC.
PSG return to league action with an away trip to Montpellier, aiming to build on their Coupe de France win.
