NWFL Premiership champions, Bayelsa Queens, have secured the loan signing of forward Harmony Chidi from Imo Striker Queens FC, www.aclsports.com reports.

The teenage sensation was the top scorer in the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers with 12 goals and later represented Nigeria at the 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. Her scoring prowess and versatility across attacking positions make her a valuable addition to the reigning champions.

Speaking at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Wednesday, Bayelsa Queens FC Chairman Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala said the new signing would bolster the team’s push for a continental spot.

“We have decided to recruit new players, whom we feel have what it takes to help us achieve our set goals. Coupled with the quality of players, and support of the Bayelsa State Government and other stakeholders, we believe we can achieve our target,” he said.

Pastor Apreala also thanked Governor Douye Diri for his unwavering support, noting that the team’s progress would not have been possible without his commitment.

With the new season approaching, fans will be eager to see Chidi in action as Bayelsa Queens, strengthened by her arrival and other key signings, chase further success at home and across Africa.
